Jessica Valiente serves as the Executive Director of Youth Orchestras of Essex County, where she combines her extensive background in music performance, education, and administration to foster a vibrant community of young musicians. With a Doctorate in Flute Performance from the CUNY Graduate Center, Jessica brings a wealth of expertise to her role, ensuring that the organization not only promotes musical excellence but also emphasizes the importance of arts education in developing well-rounded individuals.

Under her leadership, Youth Orchestras of Essex County has embarked on several key projects aimed at enhancing accessibility to music education for underserved communities. Jessica has spearheaded initiatives that provide scholarships, instrument donations, and mentorship programs, allowing students from diverse backgrounds to explore their musical talents. Her experience as a professional flutist and bandleader of Los Mas Valientes, a Latin jazz ensemble with five critically acclaimed albums, enriches her understanding of the music industry and informs her approach to programming and outreach.

In addition to her administrative duties, Jessica remains committed to her role as an educator. She has taught flute at prestigious institutions such as Brooklyn College, Montclair State University, and The New School College of Performing Arts, where she has inspired countless students. Currently, she is coaching chamber ensembles at Mason, where her passion for music education continues to shine.
