I've had the wonderful privilege of working with people in many segments of the electronics industry. The long tenure with National Semiconductor allowed freedom to dive deeply into wide-ranging market segments that have imparted a very broad view of our mobile industry. From Applications Manager for Mass Storage, to Ethernet LANs and FDDI; from working in Japan to manage an Applications team to starting National's first Wireless LAN group and defining system level products; from promoting LVDS for Laptop display interfaces to leaving for a Singapore-based startup (TriTech Microelectronics); from leading a multi-national Applications team to taking a real leap into mobile power management, and then returning to display technology in the mobile space where interfaces and power are closely linked. What kept me at National? Working with smart people in varied fields of work, which ranged from wireless power to Smartphone accessories for health and fitness. Throughout this time I've always been involved with industry standards groups which involved early collaboration with ANSI X3T9.2 (SCSI), .3 (IPI) and .5 (FDDI), working in the initial years of IEEE 802.11 (WLAN), chairing VESA Flat Panel Display Interface WG creating FPDI-1,2 and the Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPI) Alliance where I chaired the Low Speed Multipoint Link (LML) WG which created SLIMbus and later the Technical Steering Group which advised the Board of Directors. In the world of displays, I had the distinct honor of chairing the organizing committee for the Society for Information Display's Mobile Displays Conference for three years (2007-2009). Now at Samsung, I look forward to making significant contributions to the future of mobile and especially health and fitness device architectures and ecosystems. My goals are to make those around me successful in their goals, to serve my God, wife and family with good cheer and energy for each day I have on this earth!Director, Mobile Platform Architecture @ Working on new mobile platforms related to health at Samsung's Strategy and Innovation Center.
