Jacquiline studied mathematics at the University of Plymouth, which included a number of both pure and applied mathematics with some work in physics. She has gained experience with many areas of mathematics as a result, such as analysis and differential equations. Jacquiline completed her dissertation on the topic of minimal surface theory and it's derivation, with hopes to extend into the applications in art and architecture.
As part of her second year, Jacquiline also completed a year experience teaching in a primary school where she acted as a teaching assistant, improving her communication and management skills.
During her time on her degree, Jacquiline developed many invaluable skills, such and time management, communication and team work. She is a hard working, results driven individual with strengths in problem solving and analytical thinking.
Jacquiline immediately started work at Logica, now part of CGI, after graduation. In the following 18 months, she worked as a software developer in the public sector, gaining experience with Ada95, C++ and testing.
Jacquiline has now joined Misys as an Associate Software Engineer working with Java and developing financial solutions. She has dramatically improved her knowledge of Java, Agile methodology and working with developer tools such as the range of Atlassian products since January 2014, and is a productive and valuable member of the team. She is always looking for new challenges and eager to develop existing skills as well as learn new ones.
In her own time, Jacquiline has undertaken a few personal coding projects, increasing her knowledge of Java, Swing GUIs and using Github for version control.
In addition to programming, Jacquiline hopes to increase her experience in business. She is developing her understanding of project management both through training and by taking the opportunity to shadow superiors when possible to gain as much exposure to the project lifecycle as possible.
Java Software Engineer @ Currently the scrum master of a team of 8 members, on a high profile integration project implementing new functionality from scratch using Groovy scripting.
Working as part of a team, using Agile methodology, to develop a range of financial solutions in Java using the Eclipse IDE (Kepler, Luna) and Maven. Involved in the testing and validation of stories, as well as updating and maintaining the test environments for the team.
Using Confluence to read and record information about the products and teams, including being responsible for the creation of documentation in her current team. Also use of Jira, FishEye and Crucible Atlassian tools daily to track team and project progress, and conduct code reviews. Also daily use of Git with Stash and SVN for code version control.
