Ian Thompson is a seasoned Principal Electronics Engineer at PGS, where he leverages his extensive expertise in embedded systems to drive innovative solutions in seismic exploration technology. With a robust background in both hardware and software engineering, Ian has successfully completed numerous projects that showcase his proficiency in C, Rust, and Python. His recent work has focused on the development of advanced embedded units for the new Geostreamer, utilizing Micrium OS to enhance performance and reliability in complex seismic data acquisition systems.

In his current role, Ian has returned to the Geostreamer development group in Houston following the sale of OPI to GeoSpace, where he is instrumental in refining the next generation of Geostreamer technology.
