During my undergraduate career as a mathematics major, the one question that I often get asked is, "What are you going to do with your degree?" I understand that to some people, mathematics is this abstract and difficult field that most people avoid. However, to me, mathematics is about beautifully bridging complex theories with real-life applications. With a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics, I am constantly learning and applying mathematical concepts and tools to real-life scenarios. My fields of interests include operations research, numerical analysis, combinatorics, and more recently, risk management and technology in finance. I am proficient in MATLAB and have strong Microsoft Excel skills. I also have experiences in C++, Python, R, and web development. In my non-academic life, I dedicate my time to community service, mainly with the Kiwanis Family. I have held several non-profit leadership positions, where I gained valuable skills such as project/event planning, problem solving, conflict resolution, effective communication, and strategic marketing. I am currently at New York University pursuing a Master's degree in Financial Risk Engineering. I'm beyond excited to apply my mathematics knowledge to the world of business and finance. I believe that my strong problem solving and analytic skills, technical background, combined with my experience in leadership and teamwork, will make me a suitable candidate for a career in financial services.
