Acting now as a Non Executive Director and consultant, George Pierson has spent a career leading and advising organizations through difficult challenges. George has the practical experience gained from years of leading a multi-billion dollar, global infrastructure firm through times of great challenge. His multi-disciplinary experience and training provides a unique prism through which he can often see and navigate to solutions others miss.
With an accomplished background in engineering, operations, law, business, and leadership, George not only sees and focuses on the “big picture” goals of adding long-term value to organizations, but he has the knowledge and experience necessary to dive deep into the details of issues, which is often where their solutions lie. It is the application of these skills that has enabled George to solve many of the issues facing firms today.

Many organizations face one or more seemingly intractable issues that impede their strategic development. Often these issues are complex and multidimensional, requiring the application of diverse skills. This is where The Pierson Advisory Group adds value. By transforming a previously employee-owned organization into a publicly traded company, George was able to infuse greater commercial acumen resulting in a 50% increase in profitability and 34% increase in margins. The transformation of the organization was achieved through significantly greater cost efficiency, more robust risk management, and the development of a superior senior leadership team. George led a team of inside and outside experts in crisis response and ultimately negotiated a global resolution of all issues with the City of Boston, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the Federal Government, thus staving off bankruptcy for Parsons Brinckerhoff.
