From October 2015 to Present (3 months) President and CEO @ Move from Board position to President and CEO to restructure the company, rebuild the team, rationalize operations and return to profitability. Reduced working capital by over 50 percent by managing inventory, recievables and plant operations. Reduced debt by over 50 percent. Successfully sold underperforming assets resulting in improved liquidity and profitability. Improved and implemented policies and procedures resulting in improved financial reporting and results. Built a high performing executive team and relocated the corporate office driving expense reductions. From November 2013 to Present (2 years 2 months) Greater Atlanta AreaPresident & CEO @ Led company through the deepest housing recession in history, restructuring and re-capitalizing to maintain national presence and position for market recovery.
Reduced fixed operating expenses by $90 million (12 percent). Restructured the balance sheet, raising $100 million in equity, refinancing the debt, and negotiating more flexible terms and lower fees on the ABL facility. Grew higher margin, BlueLinx branded products to 10% of revenues. Expanded value-added (non-commodity) products from 30% of revenues in 2004 to 60% of revenues. Directed and launched e-commerce strategy, growing online and electronic interchange sales to 20% of revenues while reducing S,G&A expense. From October 2008 to May 2013 (4 years 8 months) Greater Atlanta AreaPresident and COO @ Led sale from Georgia-Pacific, establishing BlueLinx as a new company and managing initial public offering.
Led development and implementation of stand-alone strategy and systems. Directed sales planning process, including the introduction of value-added and BlueLinx-branded products and a reorientation of the sales force culture and compensation.
