About George Barlow

George Barlow is a seasoned professional with a unique blend of expertise in both Department of Defense (DoD) logistics and economics education. As an Adjunct Instructor at Craven Community College, he plays a pivotal role in shaping the economic understanding of students through his courses in Principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. George employs the innovative flipped classroom learning methodology, which encourages active participation and critical thinking, allowing students to engage deeply with economic concepts in both seated and online formats across the New Bern and Havelock campuses.

In his dual capacity as a DoD Logistician, George brings a wealth of real-world experience into the classroom, enriching his students' learning with practical insights from the logistics sector. His expertise in Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO), Supply Support, and Maintenance Planning informs his teaching, enabling him to illustrate complex economic theories through tangible examples from the logistics industry. Key projects he has undertaken include optimizing supply chain processes and conducting root cause analysis (RCA) to enhance fleet support operations, which serve as case studies in his courses.

George's commitment to fostering an engaging learning environment is complemented by his skills in data analysis and technical data interpretation, which are crucial in both logistics and economics. His autodidactic nature drives him to continuously seek new knowledge and methodologies, ensuring that his teaching remains relevant and impactful. Through his dual roles, George Barlow not only contributes to the academic growth of his students but also bridges the gap between theoretical economics and practical application in the logistics field.
