Gena Christopher

Gena Christopher is a dedicated English Instructor at Jacksonville State University, where she leverages her extensive expertise in higher education to foster a dynamic learning environment for her students. With a Master of Arts in Secondary Education/English from The University of Alabama in Birmingham, Gena has cultivated a robust skill set that includes E-Learning, Instructional Design, and Curriculum Development. In her current role, she serves as the Director of the English Department Writing Clinic, where she not only enhances students' writing skills but also promotes a culture of academic excellence through personalized support and innovative instructional strategies.

Gena is also the Director of Summer Programs for International Students and Teachers, where she designs and implements engaging curricula that bridge cultural gaps and enhance language proficiency. Her leadership extends to various initiatives, including her role as a Red Balloon Discussion Group Leader, where she facilitates enriching dialogues that inspire critical thinking and creativity among participants. As a member of the E-thology of American Literature Development Team, Gena contributes to the creation of comprehensive resources that explore the nuances of American literature, ensuring that students receive a well-rounded education.

Additionally, Gena plays an active role in the JSU community as a committee member for the On the Brink Southern Writers Conference and the JSU Writers Bowl, a high school writing competition that nurtures young talent.
