Fred Devereux then went on to have a career in the Canadian Football League where he played for the Edmonton Eskimos from 1988-1994. After a few seasons hiatus, Devereux played in the American Football League for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1995-1999. In 2001, Fred Devereux decided to make a full return to the NHL and signed a one year deal with the Edmonton Oilers.In his NHL career, Fred Devereux played in 787 games, tallying 227 goals and 370 assists for 536 points. Fred Devereux was originally drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the 4th round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. After a few seasons hiatus, Devereux played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the American Football League.
