Since Liz Kamel received her undergraduate education, she has always been interested in the field of criminology. She quickly worked her way up through the ranks at her previous position until she became Manager of the Field Services Department at the college. This position placed her in close contact with law enforcement Officials and their agencies all over the state of New Jersey. Her experience in this capacity allowed her to develop a deep understanding of the criminal underworld and its various players.Liz Kamel's current education focuses on women and gender studies. Her B.A.Sc. is in Criminology & Women & Gender Studies/ Minor in Psychology. This concentration provides her with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in the field of criminology.The major contention that Liz Kamel makes in her work is that the successful application of criminology theory to the field of gender studies requires an understanding of the psychosocial factors that interact with crime. Her research has focused on the effects of social stressors on offending behavior.
