📖 Summary
Co-founder, CEO @ AstroPrint (3DaGoGo, Inc) Brought together a unicorn team which is taking the 3D printing world by storm. Alums of Techstars, 500 Startups, and others. Primary emphasis is on Sales/Marketing, Recruitment, and Investor Relations. San Diego, CATaylor Acupuncture @ Entrepreneur Treated patients with a variety of conditions in NYC, Hong Kong, and San Diego. Although I treated whatever came in the door, I was most known for treating orthopedics and sport injuries. Via my undergrad degree in Sports Medicine, I also was an assistant athletic trainer for the the San Diego Gulls Ice Hockey team, and the San Diego Flash professional soccer team. From January 2002 to February 2014 (12 years 2 months) San Diego, CAProfessor @ Pacific College of Oriental Medicine Taught at both the NYC and the San Diego campuses. This is a Masters degree program. Primary Classes: Fundamental Chinese Medical Theory and Treatment of Orthopedics.Spoke as a special guest lecturer in the Doctoral degree program. Was supervisor to 100's of interns in treatment situations. Managed them and their cases in high pressure situations. From January 2005 to August 2013 (8 years 8 months) CEO, Founder @ FindYogaNow.com Created FindYogaNow.com, coded the MVP, launched the product, raised membership up to 200 yoga studios.Recruited a top level CTO and was able to automate membership and drive it up to 4000 studios w/ 20k classes listed daily.FYN wound down before focusing on monetization due to our amazing CTO getting into Techstars for another project.Instead of recruiting another CTO, I decided to shift to 3D printing, a much larger market. From April 2012 to April 2013 (1 year 1 month) San Diego, CACo Founder @ Banyan Services Banyan Services provided boutiqued email marketing services for targeted professional groups. Think of Constant Contact but highly targeted to a single profession, then duplicated to focus on other professions. My roles focused around site architecture, industry expertise, and business model creation/validation.After years of development and lots of money spent, the project never fully launched. We literally had 5 different CTO's. One had a brain aneurysm, one disappeared, one used technology that could not accomplish our goals, one went to jail (unrelated to Banyan Services), and so on. Lessons learned: Don't wait for the perfect product before launching, use lean start up methodology. Give up equity for a visionary developer, instead of cutting complex deals with lifestyle-company focused freelancers. From January 2005 to January 2009 (4 years 1 month) Greater New York City AreaFounder @ Red Cat Social and Adventure Club Sole founder, creator, and developer. The Red Cat Social and Adventure club was Meetup before Meetup was popular. The primary difference was that we targeted f2f interaction through a single city group as opposed to a fragmented crowdsourced interchange. The plan was to franchise into other cities after NYC was profitable. We had over 2000 active members in the NYC area with over 20 events per month. I coded the entire site from scratch, utilized guerrilla marketing and sleeves-up entrepreneurship to get the company off the ground. Eventually funding and development hurdles caused me to drop the site as a priority.Lessons learned: Sole founder companies are incredibly difficult. Bootstrapping a tech company can dramatically slow momentum. Dramatic momentum is necessary in tech startups. From January 2003 to January 2006 (3 years 1 month) Greater New York City Area
