Industrial Water Engineer @ Brown and Caldwell Boise, Idaho Area (Charlotte, NC 2015 - '18)Quality Control Intern @ Central Pre-Mix Concrete Company Carried out and optimized gradation tests on sand and gravel samples. Analyzed and compared the results of the gradation tests to the required specifications. Evaluated the compressive strength of concrete cylinder samples. From June 2007 to September 2009 (2 years 4 months) Process Engineer @ Pharmer Engineering During my time at Pharmer Engineering I worked on a wide variety of wastewater treatment plant projects. My experience includes design engineering and planning projects for municipalities and industrial clients. My specific duties have included:• Preparing plans for water and wastewater systems• Performing wastewater treatment process design calculations and hydraulic design calculations• Writing specifications • Preparing technical reports including: WWTP facility plans and preliminary engineering reports, operation and maintenance manuals, technical overviews on wastewater treatment technologies, and wastewater equipment evaluations• Equipment sizing and selection• Working directly with the project owner/representative• Serving as a resident project representative (RPR) on multiple wastewater related projects during the construction phase of the project • WWTP modelling using BioWin software From April 2012 to May 2015 (3 years 2 months) Boise, Idaho AreaCivil Engineering Specialist @ Seattle Public Utilities - Assisted in the maintenance and management of flow monitoring stations to ensure that the equipment was working properly and calibrated correctly. - Worked with a variety of dataloggers, sensors, flow meters, and software programs involved in downloading and editing level and velocity data collected. - Updated daily the electronic version of the field notebook and the control charts for each station. - Took flow measurements of the streams in order to improve the quality of the rating curve used to predict the stream’s flow. - Aided in the determination and alteration of the rating curves for the monitored streams. - Surveyed the channel cross-sections and analyzed the cross-section profiles for changes from previous years. - Assisted with the management of the equipment database (MS Access database) by ensuring that equipment was properly inventoried and the information in the database was up-to-date. From June 2010 to March 2012 (1 year 10 months) Greater Seattle AreaGrader @ University of Washington, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Assist with the grading of homework assignments and exams for the drinking water treatment class taught by Dr. Michael Dodd in the Civil Engineering department at the University of Washington. The class focuses on conceptual models for how and why drinking water treatment processes work and mathematical models describing their performance under various designs and operating scenarios From September 2011 to December 2011 (4 months) Undergraduate Research Assistant @ University of Washington, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Aided a PhD student in the operation of bioreactor designs to observe how certain “selector” processes affect the estrogen-degrading bacteria populations in wastewater samples. Specific duties included: creating a feed solution for the bioreactor, removing the waste from each bioreactor, cleaning the bioreactors, and testing the bioreactor samples for pH and various compound levels including nitrate, ammonia, and phosphates. The project was overseen by Dr. David Stensel. From February 2010 to June 2010 (5 months) Seattle, WA
