Also Acting Project Director for one of KEO's leading projects in Abu Dhabi From February 2014 to Present (1 year 11 months) Quality Assurance Director @ Responsible for upgrading Quality Management systems in this Egyptian based international multi-disciplinary of Consulting Engineers. I have introduced the company Integrated Management System and the Health and Safety Management System as part of the IMS at the local Abu Dhabi Office and delivered certification to ISO 9001, 14001 and OSHAS18001. Delivered an Integrated Management system at company headquarters in Cairo and managed overall company transformation activity including new organisation, HR Processes and establishment of Project Management Office. From November 2010 to January 2014 (3 years 3 months) Quality Assurance and Risk Manager @ Joined AECOM Project in Abu Dhabi on the Saadiyat Island Cultural District. Responsible for Quality Assurance and Quality Control of the Programme to build 5 Museums including the Guggenheim, Louvre, and a Military Museum. This is a very iconic series of projects designed by some of the world's leading Architects, including Lord Foster, Frank Gehry and Jean Nouvel.
I was also responsible for for the Risk Management Process that each of the Museum Project Teams had to work to From March 2009 to May 2010 (1 year 3 months) Head of Programme Management Academy @ I undertook a variety of roles ate AWE culminating in the position of Head of the Programme Management Academy. I was resposible for the set up and operation of the company's academy in order to raise the competence of its Programme and Project Managers. During an eighteen month period we put over 1600 people through a variety of training courses on specialist subjects including risk management, Sponsorship, earned value mangement as well as the fundamental principles of Programme and Project Management.
In parallel with these activities I became a Trustee then Chairman of AWE Pension Trustees Limited responsible for a Pension Fund in excess of £700M and successfully steered the scheme through the very difficult times. From February 2007 to February 2009 (2 years 1 month) Head of Engineering @ I set up the company's Design Authority for all construction related activity. I was Engineering Manager on two of the Company's Operational Facilities, both Nuclear. I was Head of Engineering from 2002 to 2006 responsible for the delivery of Design of major facuilities and for the succesful operation of the design Design Authority at a time of significant expansion. I managed all of these through significant business change for the company From March 1995 to February 2007 (12 years) Civil Works Manager @ Defence Electronics Company. I was responsible for the delivery of all civil works projects associated with Plessey's turnkey defence electronics communications projects From January 1983 to May 1995 (12 years 5 months) Deputy Projects Director @ Responsible for the design and implementation of major projects for the Omani armed services ranging from army camps for 2000 people including all infrastructure water resources, power stations etc in remote areas From 1977 to 1982 (5 years) Engineer @ I undertook concrete quality control for site batched concrete for Hunterston b Nuclear Power Station. Later I undertook setting out and supervision of Prestressing Activities. Finally I managed all subcontract actities on site From 1969 to 1977 (8 years)
