From June 2015 to Present (7 months) Adjunct Faculty, Master of Arts in Museum Studies @ Teach two graduate-level courses, "Developing Museum Web Projects" and "Museums in the Digital Age" (a core course requirement), as part of the Master of Arts program in Museum Studies. Design and implement curriculum that is fully taught online using a course management system as well as other synchronous and asynchronous technologies for collaboration, information sharing, and discussion. Other clients included Artomatic (pro bono), the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. From December 2011 to October 2012 (11 months) Washington D.C. Metro AreaAdjunct Faculty, Master of Arts in Museum Studies @ Taught graduate‐level course on “Museums and Technology.” Provided students with an overview of existing and emerging technologies in museums—including gaming, kiosks, mobile applications, social media, and Web sites. The class tackled complex issues including: accessibility, legal matters, user-centered design, community‐building, shared authority, and evaluation. Developed a number of award-winning projects—including the Smithsonian’s first YouTube contest and a major redesign of americanhistory.si.edu—that reinvigorated the organization, making the museum more transparent and relevant to its online and on-site audiences. Introduced and launched new online tools to expand outreach and serve organizational needs including online donation system, e-mail newsletter, customer relationship management (CRM) system, and content management tools. From November 2003 to September 2011 (7 years 11 months) Coordinator, Online Communications & Publishing @ Managed major redesign of kff.org Web site for health policy and communications nonprofit organization. Led project to migrate 3,000+ Web pages. Supervised all content and technical tasks for several Web sites including writing, copyediting, and coordinating 100+ content contributors. Managed email communications and implemented new syndication technologies for sharing content around the Web. Facilitated planning and installation of interactive exhibit in lobby of Foundation building.
