I successfully led the growth of the company into the U.S, the Nordics and Benelux, establishing key distribution and retail partnerships, country personnel and the infrastructure required to support sales. With limited investment in a highly competitive market we delivered some excellent results and a solid platform for further growth. From July 2013 to April 2015 (1 year 10 months) VP - Sales and Marketing North America @ Steered the business through a period of unexpected market decline, focusing on all the key drivers to TomTom performance across the sales and marketing functions. Fundamentally restructured the sales and marketing teams to recognize and maximize market and category trends by right sizing, reorganizing and upgrading talent. Reduced headcount inline with adjusted market potential and OPEX targets saving around $2.5mn in payroll costs alone. Orchestrated and drove product strategy to simplify a confusing and disjointed range structure through sku count reduction and addressed naming conventions, ensuring both a clearer consumer offer and realizing significant efficiencies in inventory planning and management Over delivered budget market share in year 1 which included significant growth in Canada Successfully launched the TomTom Fitness Business delivering significant profit in Q4 2012 and an estimated 20% share of the Sports Watch market. From April 2011 to June 2013 (2 years 3 months) Greater Boston AreaVP Sales and Marketing UK and Ireland @ Originally joined as Country Sales Manager (Dec 2005 and then promoted 2008) Outperformed budget market share in 2009 and 2010 whilst also maintaining a brand index of 1.2 over the market and reversing the decline in TomTom ASP. Increased both ASP and Gross Margin 2010 v 2009 through a clearly thought out and stable road map, maximizing channel margin efficiencies with a value driven pricing model and improving the product blend (specifically from low to mid end). Increased TomTom market share in Ireland from a historic position of around 25% value to an average of 40% value through restructure of UK based resource, recruitment of local Country Manager, complete shake up of the distribution base and better focus within retail partners on our strategy. Developed new future revenue streams in bringing TomTom Assist Breakdown Cover to market. More potential relationships were in the pipeline (e.g. National Car Parks) which also add to our strategy for Road and Traffic Authority Recruited and developed a new and culturally diverse local team (blending Dutch, French and Australian employees) to help bring performance to the next level, as well as helping give a more integrated and aligned European approach to the market as the category matured. Established TomTom as the clear number one in the UK by widening the distribution base outside of the original 2/3 retail partners, gaining listings before our competition and delivering clear integrated marketing campaigns leveraging retail space and assets From December 2005 to April 2011 (5 years 5 months) London, United KingdomNAM @ Accountable for around £50mn revenue through key national retail accounts including Comet and the John Lewis Partnership.
