From 2010 to 2011 (1 year) Greater Los Angeles AreaVP of Engineering @ Ticketmaster I was responsible for leading the Development, Operations and Program Management teams in LA and San Francisco while growing the technology team from 16 Software and QA Engineers to a team of 93 US, offshore and contractors who released nearly 700 projects in 2009, with department budget of $11M.● Successfully improved the existing poor customer experience ratings on the website, by splitting projects and separating the content portion, relaunching content section in 6 months, and the Check-Out Page in 7 months.● Designed an infrastructure and application suite that supported 1.2B pageviews per month, 5000 requests per second, and 1.5Gb per second of html outbound traffic. Increased Internet sales from 38% in 2001 to 85% in 2009.● Managed the Open Source community by participating in software development of Template-Toolkit, the Tux Linux Kernel web server, O’Reilly Open Source Convention presentation and sponsorship of mod_perl 2.0 development. Ticketmaster is a ticket sales and distribution company based in West Hollywood, California. www.ticketmaster.comWhile reporting directly to the CTO, I was responsible for process development and system integration, while managing the engineering team and growing the organization from 5 teams & 80 people to 14 agile teams & 125 people. ● Overhauled team structure and development processes, while expanding the mobile software team by 60%.● Streamlined processes, reorganized procedures, restructured engineering teams & transitioned to new technology.● Helped the mobile software team release critical product features 25% faster and with 10% fewer defects.● Launched the Ticketmaster Resale Program (secondary ticket platform) simultaneously on both mobile and web involving technical teams of 30 developers on a year-long schedule. This resulted in a 50% increase in revenue.● Increased release process velocity by moving from a homegrown deployment solution to an automated Maven system.
