After obtaining her B.A. in 1989, Charlotte Mandrup worked as an evidence specialist in the appellate division of the Department of Work and Pensions in Denmark. There, she met her current husband, Ole Christensen.Between 1995 and 1998, Charlotte Mandrup was an instructor in the Danish business school, IMD. There, she taught business administration and marketing. In January 1998, Charlotte Mandrup left IMD to join her husband as an Instructor in the Danish business school, Højskolen i Århus. There, she taught business administration, marketing, and business law.
