📖 Summary
I'm a rehabilitated career switcher. What feels like a lifetime ago, I was a CPA doing financial modelling at Kraft Foods, where I had a lucrative but altogether predictable career. Seeking a challenge, I quit and co-founded a tech startup, Tunezy, which kicked off the exponential learning curve of which I never want to leave. In 2013 Tunezy was acquired, the team split up and went their ways, and I ended up working in multiple product management roles of increasing scope at FreshBooks, where I'm now a Director of Product. From figuring out how much cheese Tim Horton's would buy next month, to figuring out how to build a creative culture, set the strategy for, and nurture the four product teams I lead now, it's been quite a ride. I love writing (https://medium.com/@brandonmchu) and meeting new people too, so please don't be shy: [email protected] @ Working with smart people to build the future of commerce From July 2015 to Present (6 months) Toronto, Canada AreaDirector of Product Management @ Leading a group of product teams across mobile and web, where I strive to: • Rally teams of engineers, product managers, and designers around an inspiring product vision • Design processes to enable people to focus on what they do best • Work with the exec team to drive alignment on product strategy • Enable those on my team to grow and nurture their careers • Talk to customers and of course, launch awesome products FreshBooks is a growth stage SaaS product that has been used by over 5 million users on web and mobile.
