The Fuzing & Ordnance Systems (FOS) division, a wholly owned subsidiary of L-3 Communications, is the largest fuze manufacturer in the US and is one of the largest and most advanced manufacturers of fuzes and ordnance products in the world. L-3 FOS specializes in the development and production of fuzing and arming devices as well as the manufacture and integration of ordnance systems for air-dropped, tube-launched, missile and rocket-driven devices, and infantry-employed ordnance products for the US military and our international allies. As the Director of Regulatory Compliance, I lead and support a dedicated staff of personnel within these core business functions, and routinely develop and/or support a number of these programs for several other divisions within L-3: • Environmental Protection • Occupational Health • Occupational Safety • Explosives Safety, Security, Accountability, and Siting • Emergency Preparedness • Hazardous Materials Transportation and Competent Authority Approvals • Ordnance SDS Creation • Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning • Government and Customer Property Management • Manufacturing Operations Training • Facility Security • Information System Security • Electrostatic Discharge Protection • Foreign Object Debris Prevention From April 2009 to Present (6 years 9 months) EHS Manager @ Linamar Corporation, Canada’s second largest automobile parts manufacturer, produces and supplies the automotive and industrial markets across the globe with numerous manufacturing facilities throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Specializing in metal products for powertrain systems as well as aerial work platforms for industrial and construction applications, the corporation employees approximately 18,000 personnel in 44 facilities while generating 2013 sales of $3.6B (CAD). Eagle Manufacturing manufactures and markets automotive parts and components for engines, including cylinder heads, connecting rods, intake and exhaust manifolds, lower crankcases, flywheel housings, and transmission shafts for core customers such as Ford, GM, Chrysler, and Toyota, among others. As the facility’s EHS Manager, I was responsible for development and implementation of numerous environmental, health, and safety programs including but not limited to: • Lockout • Electrical Safety • Cranes and Hoist • Machine Guarding / Robotics Gate Entry Systems • Emergency Preparedness • RCRA Waste Management (SQG) • Wastewater and Stormwater • SPCC and SWPPP • Confined Spaces • HazCom • Powered Industrial Trucks • PPE / Hearing Conservation • First Aid, CPR, and BBP • Workers’ Compensation • Drug Free Workplace • Ergonomics • Tier II and Form R Reporting • Security • Internal EHS Auditing In addition, I was responsible for facilitation of the organization’s Joint Health and Safety Committee, the creation of an OHSAS 18001 program, and the continued development and improvement of the ISO 14001 program. I also provided OSHA 10-Hour General Industry outreach training cards to the facility’s managers, supervisors, manufacturing engineers, and Joint Health and Safety Committee members on all three shifts using training materials developed and customized specifically for Eagle’s health and safety risks while meeting all requisite Outreach Training Program criteria. From September 2007 to April 2009 (1 year 8 months) EHS Analyst @ Headquartered in Vernier Switzerland, Givaudan is the largest flavor and fragrance company in the world, achieving 2013 sales of CHF 4.4B with a workforce of over 9,000 employees in over 80 sites spanning 40 countries. The company's flavors and fragrances are developed for use in food and beverage products, household goods, grooming products, personal care products, and perfumes.
