From 2004 to Present (11 years) Product Manager @ Responsible for the Developer Zone website, the primary resource point for customers. Managed the redesign and implementation of the Developer Zone in 2008 as well its re-architecture and rebranding in 2011. Responsible for all aspects of this website from deployment of products (three developed in house and half a dozen developed by partners), content creation, layout, design and implementation as well integration with a CRM system. Managed the design and development of a 3D graphics visualization SDK used by companies like Autodesk and SolidWorks. Collaborated with development on the design and usability of all major features of the API. Directed testing, documentation and deployment. Worked with executive staff on branding, strategy and positioning of our line of products. Performed due diligence on new technologies for possible acquisitions as well performed market research and competitive analysis. Collaborated with VP of Engineering on product positioning and strategy presentations. From July 2007 to January 2012 (4 years 7 months) Technical Lead @ Managed a team of engineers to deliver the application side of a video transcoding product. Designed API for the transcoding engine with senior architect. Worked with management to define features, created release schedules and set milestones. Helped quality assurance with defining test plans. Worked with technical support to triage bugs. Assisted marketing and sales in developing marketing collateral, data sheets and product demonstrations. From 2001 to 2003 (2 years) Senior Software Engineer @ Senior engineer on non-linear video editing application. Optimized title rendering, implemented metadata embedding and developed a plug-in that integrated with Dreamweaver to author web pages containing video content. Created a tool that allowed content creators to author events such as chapters, web page flips, hot spots and other event markers. From 2000 to 2001 (1 year) Software Engineer @ Designed and implemented a 3D interactive Electronic Program Guide (EPG) for set top boxes. The EPG allowed the user to “walk through” a 3D gallery of rooms that displayed videos of currently available programming as well as upcoming programs. Users could also organize channels and categories in different rooms according to preference. Designed and wrote the Surflink Editor, a tool for creating hyperlinked video. The Surflink Editor generated a companion file to the video that allowed the 3D EPG to display annotated video in which the user could select different objects. When an object was selected, additional information could be displayed as tooltip over the video or shown side by side with the video. From 1999 to 2000 (1 year) Product Anaylst @ Wrote functional overviews, product announcements, white papers and positioning presentations for the following manufacturing applications: Bill of Materials, Engineering and Inventory. Worked on integrations with product lifecycle management tools and data warehousing/business intelligence systems. Managed quality assurance and worked with technical support to triage bugs.
