Enabled the current JavaScript / Flex / .NET / Oracle application to work in offline mode by using HTML5’s new offline storage API to cache data in a local db and reverting to it once internet connection is lost. Input data is collected locally and uploaded back to WW servers once a connection is available. Globalized and localized the Flex application to work with any language, decimal system and currency types. Modularized a heavy, 400+ class architecture to load necessary pieces on demand, improving performance by optimizing internal garbage collection and delegating heavy calculations to back-end. Developed a mechanism for remotely updating the application’s files without need for re-imaging of the proprietary hardware. Wrote a JavaScript manager API that switches the state of the application based on presence of online connection, user privilege and administrative settings for the location. Created a real-time mobile dashboard using Sencha Touch, HTML5 and CSS3, which shows real time progress of members at any particular center, with data sorted and displayed based on performance, attendance, failure to complete goals, and more. Challenge and risk was from it having to be completed in less than half the time usually allocated for this size of a project. Managed to maintain good coding standarts and modularity while constantly having to meet nearly impossible deadlines. Worked closely with a designer, art-director and a project manager and was constantly involved in decisions pertaining to design, user interaction and experience. Built the portal in a way that would make it easy to maintain, update and reuse its framework for further projects. Special attention had to be payed to optimizing file size and it's CPU consumption, while allowing for multi-language font support and having all data come in dynamically from Coach's CMS system in JSON format.
