I have more than 10 years of Java development experience. During that time, I have been working with many frameworks and architectures, and steadily strengthening my expertise in creating efficient and robust solutions to problems – and implementing them. During this time I also earned a MBA in Project Management, in order to improve my understanding of project development, as well as helping me becoming a team leader. Today I lead a team of server-side multiplayer game developers. Recent achievements: 1 – Helping the managerial staff with the adoption of project management and bug tracker tools, reducing the number of bugs as well as the time needed to fix them. 2 – Refactoring of the common code for the multiplayer games, helping making more games in less time and with more robustness. 3 – Identifying personal problems within the team, helping people overcome them and improving their commitment and motivation, leading to better results and less turnover. 4 – Migration of Match’s Latin America customer database to ParPerfeito, helping ensure that the paying customers still had access to every paid feature of ParPerfeito, as well as implementing missing features from Match into ParPerfeito. The migration took over a year of work, resulting in an increase of more than 100% of customers in ParPerfeito’s database.Senior Java Developer and Team Manager @ Gazeus is one of the largest online gaming companies in Brazil. It develops games that reach millions of people around the globe using many platforms, from web based applications to native iOS and Android ones. It also develops online multiplayer games that are played by thousands of people simultaneously. About two years ago, I joined the team to help the multiplayer server-side game development, which was having difficulties delivering games on time. Back at that time, the company was focusing heavily in multiplayer games. Not long after, I was appointed the team leader, responsible for developing and managing the group of people responsible for the project. Together, we were able to finish the ongoing projects as well as establishing a more professional conduct. With the passing year, the company’s focus changed; we are now investing heavily on the mobile platform. Still, there are many mobile games that are such a success, that multiplayer versions are constantly being made. This means many more users are concurrently using our systems, and as a result, many systems needed to be upgraded in order to handle the load. I was responsible to help finding and implementing solutions for the server side. Currently I develop, lead, coach and help manage a small team of motivated people that are always looking to find better/faster solutions for the server-side code. Some of the current accumulated experiences are: • Issue and Project Tracking: JIRA • Software Management: Maven • Database: Amazon DynamoDB • Messaging: JMS, Amazon SQS (Simple Queue Service), Amazon SNS (Simple Notification Service) • Multiplayer Platform: SmartFoxServer From November 2012 to Present (3 years 2 months) Rio de Janeiro Area, BrazilSenior Java Developer @ ParPerfeito (part of the Match Group) is the largest online dating company in Brazil. As a result, it became responsible for all Latin America operations. I joined the team back in 2005, to understand and help improving the billing system. At that time, the system was convoluted and very bug prone. I helped to improve the system as well as enhancing it, such as introducing new methods of payment. Having established a reputation for good, solid and robust work, along with my throughout knowledge of the system, helped me gain a team lead position when the Meetic purchase happened. During that time I had my first true experience as a manager, helping the Java developers deliver complex projects. As the deal between Meetic and Match concluded, I was still leading the Java team. In my last couple of years there, my extensive knowledge of the systems and the company’s procedures were particularly important to help a special program to implement a migration from Match’s Latin America database to merge with ParPerfeito’s Some of the accumulated experiences involved: • Web: Servlet/JSP, JavaScript, JQuery, Struts, Spring, MVC Pattern • Software Management: Maven, Jenkins • Text search engine: Lucene • Database: Oracle, MySQL • Messaging: JMS • Application Servers: Resin, Tomcat From April 2005 to November 2012 (7 years 8 months) Rio de Janeiro Area, BrazilJava Developer @ Netikos is an Italian company that provides software solutions for TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile). My work was focused in TIM’s backend projects, helping the web interface interact with the various underlying mainframe systems, using project patterns such as Business Delegate, DAO (Data Access Object) and Transfer Object.
