Over more than a year and half I started doing a research on the future design of Operating Systems at the University of Hong Kong. the main focus was on the memory management and how will it fit on the many-core architecture of the microprocessors. We used the Barrelfish Operating Systems which is an open-source operating system developed by ETH Zurich promoting the idea of multi-kernel Operating Systems. The eventual move from multi-core to many-core is on the horizon and it looks to be a real doozy.
Since June 2014, most of my research work is all about "Big Data analytics and Hadoop engineering". Currently I am working on maintaining the overall performance of Hadoop platform with the massive amount of unstructured data.
I am currently looking for a job here in the UK or back in HongKong where I would find my comfort zone between being a typical system engineer and data engineer. I am looking for a system engineering job where I would be involved with data engineering and analytics.
