We are a mother-daughter duo on a mission to share delectable Malaysian desserts from beyond our home kitchen to the bustling streets of NYC. Starting out as a simple hobby for my mother Veronica, baking became a way to keep a piece of her home country close to her heart. A sweet bite of Kuih was a sweet memory of Malaysia.
After countless hours of practice and experimentation, she refined her recipes to achieve perfection. With each batch, she toiled over the balance of flavors and textures. Her dedication to the craft paid off, as our friends and family were wowed by the bright, enticing palettes and rich flavors of her creations, and fascinated that every dish was created without any additives.
With a desire to share her talent and passion with more people, we opened Kuih Cafe in February 2020, and became the first Malaysian dessert shop in New York. Our mission is to share with everyone Malaysian cuisine beyond curries and satays. Our rotating menu consists of traditional Kuih, savory dishes, as well as one-of-a-kind marriages of Malaysian and Western desserts. You can find authentic flavors and ingredients like pandan, ube, and blue pea flower, combined with cheesecakes, mousse cakes, and more all at Kuih Cafe.
So come, join us to explore the infinite possibilities of Malaysian Kuih!
