Pondicheri was founded by chef & owner Anita Jaisinghani in 2011 after her success with Indika, a modern Indian fine dining restaurant in Houston. Like its namesake town, Pondicheri aims to create an environment in which myriad regional & cultural influences merge to provide a diverse & complex experience. Inspired by the regional diversity & the vibrant street food culture of Indian cuisine, Pondicheri's menu is what we call non-traditional authentic: serving preparations from all over the Indian subcontinent with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. Both Indika & Pondicheri have been recognized nationwide with James Beard nominations. Pondi was founded in Houston, where it's original cafe & Bake Lab continue to thrive. Its NYC location in the heart of the NoMad neighborhood opened this August.
