Stonebridge City Farm is a community-charity based in St. Ann's, Nottingham, in the top 5% of areas of multiple deprivation in the UK. The farm has played a key part in the local and wider communities for 43 years. As a charity, we have to generate a large proportion of our income from donations and grant-giving bodies, from local organisations and individuals. We can also help with Corporate Social Responsibility via Team Volunteer Days here at the farm, where you and your colleagues can join us to work alongside our own staff and volunteers on a variety of projects. We are so much more than just a 'small slice of the countryside in the heart of the city.' We are a VISITOR CENTRE attracting over 60,000 visitors annually and it remains very important to us that entrance remains free so that we are fully inclusive to all. The operation of the farm enables us to provide a TRAINING CENTRE, offering vital support and development opportunities for over 150 VOLUNTEERS on site each week. Many of our volunteers face a mental health challenge, physical or learning disabilities, or other high support needs. We offer work-based training opportunities in Animal Care/Husbandry, Food and Hygiene, Horticulture and Customer Service. We are also an EDUCATION CENTRE where we welcome over 1000 schoolchildren on structured visits each year. Many inner-city children have no previous experience of farm life and animals. We also support local colleges by providing hands-on animal care where students attend weekly as their colleges are not able to provide direct access to animals.
