Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi is a higher education institution that attracts the best students from the UAE and around the world. Established in 2006 as a result of an agreement between the Sorbonne University in Paris and the Government of Abu Dhabi, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi has benefited from its unique associations with two globally renowned academic institutions; Sorbonne University and Paris Descartes University ensuring that degrees offered are to the highest international standards and identical to those obtained in Paris. Our students benefit from 760 years of academic excellence and learn on a state-of-the-art campus on Al-Reem Island in Abu Dhabi. . Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi is a place of cultural exchange where teachers and students are constantly on the move and a sought-after destination for academic and cultural events. Both our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are specially designed to train students for international careers that match the demands of global employment markets. All 15 postgraduate (Masters) degrees are taught in English except the Master in Teaching French as a Foreign Language, which is taught in French. All 12 undergraduate degrees, with the exception of Physics (taught in English), are taught in French. Students must be fluent in the French language to join an undergraduate programme. French as a Foreign Language (FLE) courses are offered to prospective students who do not have a sound command of French, to bring them to the level required to study an undergraduate degree.
