Das ursprünglich elitäre Image des Golfsports soll nachhaltig verändert werden, damit Einsteiger jeden Alters diese Sportart genauso ausüben können wie beispielsweise das Skifahren. Die Volksgesundheit fördern: Golf ist – regelmässig betrieben – ein idealer und gesundheitsfördernder Sport. Bedingt durch die Platzlänge ergeben sich bei einem 18 Loch Spiel Gehstrecken bis zu ca. zehn Kilometer. Die Sauerstoffaufnahme steigt während eines Spiels auf das 2 bis 4-fache gegenüber Grundumsatzbedingungen an; dies entspricht einem Verbrauch von circa 1‘500 Kalorien während einer 18-Loch Runde. Die Umweltverträglichkeit gewährleisten: Die Umwelt zu schützen erachtet die Migros als unbedingte Voraussetzung für ihr Engagement im Golfsport.
