Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST) is a platform for empowering Indian youth to turn their business ideas into profitable enterprises, with the guidance, encouragement, and support of a mentor. With the aim to channel the power of India’s youth towards economic development, BYST’s founding principles are based on the famous words of Mr. J R D Tata - “If we touch one life, it has the potential to transform the lives of a billion people.” A unique non-profit organization, we are a perfect blend of the Prince of Wales' Youth Business Trust (PYBT) and India’s age-old, time-honored, ‘guru-shishya’ tradition, wherein mentors train, support, monitor and guide young, aspiring entrepreneurs. By adopting the ancient guru-shishya “parampara”, BYST Mentors instill values and a sense of self-confidence in their respective Mentees. Over the years, BYST has expanded & set up regional clusters in NCR Delhi (Faridabad & Gurgaon), Tamil Nadu (Chennai & Kancheepuram), Maharashtra (Pune, Aurangabad, Wardha, Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara), Odisha (Jajpur, Rayagada, Bhubaneswar & Cuttack), Rajasthan (Sikar), Uttarakhand (Udham Singh Nagar), Telangana (Hyderabad), Vijayawada (AP), Jharkhand (Ranchi) and in Assam. As of Dec 2022, BYST has counseled over 10,00,000 youth nationwide, supported 35,000 entrepreneurs and directly facilitated financial assistance of over Rs 540 crores through its Bank Partners for 12,500 entrepreneurs. BYST has provided mentoring support to entrepreneurs through its duly trained and accredited cadre of 20,000 mentors who are volunteers drawn from the government, education sector, and industry. BYST-supported entrepreneurs have, in turn, created employment for over 3,65,000 workers. 10 percent of BYST-supported entrepreneurs have become millionaires and have won 105 National and International Awards.
