Founded in 1962, Cathay Life Insurance was the first publicly-listed insurance company in Taiwan (1964). Its 8 million policyholders account for one-third of the country’s population, and Cathay Holdings has one-quarter of the country’s assets under management. The company is the only financial institution in Taiwan in the Global Fortune 500. Globalization and open cross-strait market brought challenges as well as opportunities. We actively expanded into China and Vietnam in 2005 and 2007. We are now the largest offshore operator in Taiwan with 31 contact points in China and six subsidiaries in Vietnam. In 2015, we were officially certified as an OIU (Offshore Insurance Unit) by the Central Bank of Taiwan. With 55 years of experience, Cathay Life Insurance has had a winning streak. We set the goal to become an international benchmark corporation, and to become the best financial institution in the Asia-Pacific region. Otherwise, we are committed to leading the financial/insurance industry in Taiwan into sustainable development.
