The Daily Orange is the nonprofit, student-run newspaper of Syracuse, New York, covering Syracuse University and the greater Syracuse community. The D.O.'s editorial content was first published in 1903 and became financially independent from the university in 1971. The newspaper publishes online at dailyorange.com year-round and produces a weekly print issue, distributed for free at city and university locations, while classes are in session. The D.O. produces written and digital content across its news, culture, opinion, sports and visuals (photography, videography and design) sections. If you are an SU or SUNY ESF undergraduate or graduate student interested in working in any of these sections, send an email to [email protected]. The D.O. can be found on various social media platforms, including Instagram and Twitter at the @dailyorange handle. The D.O.'s financial independence is by choice. We rely on supporters to provide real-world opportunities for our student journalists and to cover the university fiercely and fairly.
