Spark - Where Sunderland Lives Spark is Sunderland’s community radio station. Based at the University of Sunderland’s St Peter’s Campus, we make use of industry standard equipped studios and the extensive experience of the University’s staff to help create fantastic community radio. Spark is the station serving the 15-30 year olds of Sunderland. The station aims to create opportunities for people to tell their stories and contribute to discussions that affect them on a local and national level. We fuse the energy of student radio with the engagement of community radio. We don't see a divide, just great radio. We celebrate our amazing city and region and champion talent through our commitment to local artists. We encourage our team to be ambitious, creative, and inventive and experiment with the power of radio to engage with audiences. Many of the people you hear on the air have been in radio for less than a year. We love what we do and we hope you do too.
