The Agency fulfils operational management tasks for Eurodac, the Schengen Information System (SIS), the Visa Information System (VIS), as well as e-CODEX. eu-LISA has also been entrusted with the development and operational management of the European Entry/Exit System (EES), the European Travel Information and Authorisation Systems (ETIAS), the European Criminal Records Information System - Third Country Nationals (ECRIS-TCN), and to ensure that all systems are interoperable. eu-LISA is responsible for keeping all the IT systems under its control permanently functional in order to allow continuous and uninterrupted exchange of data between national authorities.
