Founded in 195l, formly as Zhejiang Provincial Institute of Communications Planning, Design & Research (ZJIC), is a state-owned engineering consultancies with nearly 60 years' experience. ZJIT principally specializes in the planning, surveying & mapping, geological exploration, design, consulting and research of infrastructure projects in fields of roads, bridges, tunnels, urban railways and subways, architecture, greening & landscape engineering, geotechnical engineering, ports and channels. ZJIT has established business relations with clients both at home and abroad, and was awarded the honors of Excellent Design Unit by the Ministry of Transport and Excellent Survey and Design Institute by China Exploration & Design Association. ZJIT currently has more than 700 employees, 85% of whom are engineering, economic and other specialized staff including 200 senior engineers,100 engineers,20 economists and 100 state-certified engineers. ZJIT owns a perfect intelligent design and research building and offices equipped with advanced production and management facilities.A modernized system has been initially established, with engineering information arrangement as the core based on computer networks and CAD systems. Since it was established, ZJIT has completed the consultancy, survey and design of about 3500km expressways, over 700km overseas highways, more than 10000km national and provincial trunk roads, 400km municipal roads and bridges, over 500 super large and long bridges, over 600 tunnels, over 500 ports and terminals, over 4500km channels, with a total investment of more than 500 billion RMB. ZJIT has won more than 100 awards at national and provincial levels.
