ZAPI Group is leader in manufacturing of electronic speed controller and associated products for battery and hybrid-powered electric vehicles. The company was founded in 1975 by Giannino Zanichelli, and started its activities in Poviglio, in the heart of Northern Italy. Today ZAPI is a solid Company operating at international level, with a steadily increasing market share and a leading position in the power drives (inverters) of AC electric machines segment.The passion for technology, superior design, best in class quality, highly qualified customer support, and hard work are the pillars that just in a few decades have made ZAPI a successful Company able to reach its worldwide leadership position.While electronic controllers represent ZAPI's core business, the ZAPI Group also includes other dedicated companies such as Zivan (specialized in high frequency battery chargers), ZTP (specific for joysticks and data loggers as well as providing service on Zapi products), Best Motor (electric motors) and since July 2012 Schabmüller, a major German motor manufacturer. A further growth of the ZAPI Group family took place in 2014 with the acquisition of Inmotion (former Kollmorgen- EVS) and its facilities in USA (Blacksburg, Virginia) with production and assembly of electric motors and electronic inverters, Sweden (Stockholm) with special focus on high voltage inverters for hybrids and China (Tianjin) with a factory for motors and high voltage generators and low voltage inverters for material handling applications. In December 2016, ZAPI Group has continued its expansion through the acquisition of the Canadian company “Delta-Q Technologies”, which is a point of reference in manufacturing high frequency battery on-board chargers for electric vehicles.The definition of a highly integrated product portfolio and the synergies between the different technologies present in the ZAPI Group companies have enabled the creation of a unique offering of packages at system level.
