Yukon College is in the process of transitioning to university status, when it will become known at Yukon University (YukonU). The transition is expected to take place in 2020.
At Yukon College instruction and research is conducted with a northern perspective. We offer over 50 programs, ranging from degrees to certificates, through seven academic and career schools. In 2018 the first made-in-Yukon degree will launch - Bachelor of Arts in Indigenous Governance. The College also provides the first two years of university transfer and is a member of the BC Council on Admissions and Transfer as well as the Alberta Council on Admissions and Transfer. We offer something for every learner.
Increasingly the institution is focusing on our three pillars of strength including: climate change - society and environment; Indigenous self-determination and governance; and sustainable resource development and innovation.
