Xtra Magazine is one of the world’s leading LGBTQ2S online publications. Founded in Toronto in 1984 by Pink Triangle Press, the independent, queer-run media company, Xtra is an award-winning digital magazine and community platform covering queer and trans politics, culture, sex, relationships and health. Through longform features, essays, explainers, video documentaries and podcasts—we engage and inspire our audiences to create a more just, free and inclusive world.
Xtra is the editorial core of Pink Triangle Press (PTP), Canada’s largest LGBT publisher, and a mission-driven organization. PTP has an acclaimed history of creating journalism that matters since 1971, when it quickly established its influence, and a loyal readership, in the emerging gay and lesbian communities in Canada and other English-speaking nations.
