Wyndham spans an area of 542km and is a diverse both geographically and demographically. Wyndham has a coastline that features the Werribee South Beach, the Point Cook Coastal Park and the recently developed Wyndham Harbour. Werribee South is home to one of the most significant market garden regions in the State; and a major industrial area is located at Laverton North.Suburbs include Werribee, Hoppers Crossing, Manor Lakes, Tarneit, Truganina, Wyndham Vale, Little River, Werribee South and Laverton North. Wyndham is a culturally diverse – 42% of residents were born overseas and the city has the largest Aboriginal and Torres Straight Island population in Western Metro Melbourne.Wyndham is home to many iconic tourist attractions including the Werribee Open Range Zoo, Werribee Park Mansion, State Rose Garden and National Equestrian centre. The City also boasts premier sporting and recreational facilities such as AquaPulse, Eagle Stadium, Chirnside Park (home to the Werribee Tigers), Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club and the Werribee Racecourse.Experiences include an all-year calendar of events featuring equestrian, children’s events, cultural celebrations, music, food and wine, gardening and even a street party in winter. Major shopping precincts include Pacifica Werribee, Point Cook Town Centre and Werribee City Centre. Wyndham is home to the Werribee Agriculture and Food Technology Victoria University - Werribee Campus and the University of Melbourne Veterinary Science precinct. This state research and technology precinct undertakes world-class research and with significant investment in the coming years it will be transformed into a major National Employment and Innovation precinct.Massive transformation is underway for the Werribee City Centre with four upcoming new developments that will act as major catalysts.
