Windy City Restaurant Holdings, a franchisee of Famous Dave’s of America, Inc, owns and operates 5 restaurants in the Chicagoland area: Addison, North Riverside, Orland Park, Oswego and Bolingbrook. Blue Ribbon Restaurants and Buckeye BBQ, sister companies to Windy City, have been operating for more than 14 years. Today, they own and operate 4 locations in the Metro Detroit area (Westland, Roseville, Taylor and Novi), and 1 restaurant in the Greater Cleveland area (North Olmsted). Famous Dave’s of America, Inc. was founded by “Famous” Dave Anderson, whose passion for BBQ led him on a 25-year cross-country trek to find the best regional BBQ recipes in the country before opening the first Famous Dave’s in Hayward, WI. As of May, 2017, the company owns 33 locations and franchises an additional 135 units in 32 states, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Canada and the United Arab Emirates. The company is known for its on-premise real pit smokers where the BBQ is slow-smoked for up to 10 hours over smoldering hickory wood.
