About VostSibUgol
VostSibUgol (VSU) was the first acquisition of a coal mining company by En+ Group (VSU was then integrated into EuroSibEnergo). The company mines deposits in the Irkutsk region and the Krasnoyarsk Krai (1.2 bn tons of thermal coal reserves). This acquisition provided the coal demand of EuroSibEnergo’s power plants and also provided coal for exports to the Asia-Pacific region. The VSU group includes a washing plant, several transportation companies and a repairs plant. The capacity of the VSU’s open-pit mines currently exceeds 20 mtpa. The deposits owned by Vostsibugol have been and developed for more than 60 years already, with more than 1 bn tons of coal mined so far.
