Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas is a faith-based, non-profit organization whose mission is inspire self-reliance, dignity and hope through health and human services. Through a dedicated and committed team of management, staff, and volunteers who are guided by our Core Values VOICE of Faith which means Visionary, One Body, Integrity, Compassion, Excellence, and Faith - Volunteers of America Chesapeake provides comprehensive human services to thousands of individuals and families each year throughout Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. We operate 44 programs focused on 7 areas of human services:- The homeless- Individuals with mental illness- Individuals with intellectual disabilities- Those in need of affordable housing- Those recovering from substance abuse addictions- Those involved in community corrections- VeteransVolunteers of America Chesapeake is one of 36 Volunteers of America affiliates across the United States. Together we help more than 2 million people in more than 400 communities in 44 states.
