Veritau Limited was established in 2009 by North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) and the City of York Council (CYC) to provide internal audit, counter fraud and information governance services. The company is jointly owned by the two councils, and expanded in 2012 with the creation of Veritau North Yorkshire, but continues to operate as a single trading entityVeritau currently employs 60 professional and administrative support staff and operate from offices in Northallerton, York, Ryedale and Selby. Our current client base includes North Yorkshire County Council, City of York Council, four District Councils, six Academies, three National Park Authorities as well as the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and local housing associations. We also provide a Data Protection Officer service to over 500 schools.Veritau won the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) Cliff Nicholson prize in 2010 and has been shortlisted for the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation Counter Fraud award in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. We were also shortlisted in 2017 for several Public Finance Awards, and have been shortlisted for the 2019 Team of the Year award from the Information and Records Management Society.We are a recognised Investor in People since 2011.
