At Up&Up we are building a new, rewarding way to rent with a simple mission: to provide a more accessible, flexible, and, most importantly, fair way for renters to build towards homeownership. Instead of charging our renters a traditional security deposit, we allow them to invest in their rental upfront and over time so they can share in the appreciation and rental profit (the money that's left over after we pay the mortgage and any home upkeep). When their lease comes to an end, they can use the appreciated value of their contributions to buy any home on the market, transfer the value to their next rental, or cash out.
