Delivering word-class defence research to enhance Australia's security.
The UNSW Defence Research Institute was established to stimulate, unify and support all defence-related research within the UNSW community while striving to build and maintain a network across both Australian and International defence industries.
The UNSW Defence Research Institute is committed to advancing defence capabilities using broad-based defence research with excellence in areas such as: cyber security, space, systems engineering, logistics, trusted autonomous sytems, hypersonics, defence-related public sector management and conflict studies.
Headquartered and led from UNSW Canberra, the Institute draws on the expertise of researchers from the University of New South Wales in Sydney and Canberra, to provide Defence with solutions to real life issues.
Research conducted by the UNSW DRI will leverage UNSW’s unique relationship with Defence. In turn, it will be able to deliver targeted and effective research that will have the ultimate aim of strengthening the security of Australia.
The DRI will also enhance UNSW’s other valued partnerships by matching the research needs of defence initiatives internationally.
