The United States Digital Service (USDS) is a group of mission-driven professionals who are passionate about delivering better government services to the public.
Millions of people interact with government services every day. Veterans apply for benefits. Students compare financial aid options. Small business owners seek loans. Too often, outdated tools and complicated systems make these interactions cumbersome and frustrating.
Enter USDS. We collaborate with public servants throughout the government to help deliver a better government experience to people. We bring best practices from our various disciplines, which include engineering, product, design, procurement, data science, operations, talent, and communications.
Coming from a range of cultural, geographical, and ethnic backgrounds, USDSers — as we call ourselves — represent a myriad of intersecting identities, just like the people we serve. We're curious about understanding the needs of people and are excited to use our short tours of service to make a positive impact.
We hire talented professionals for tours of services ranging from three months up to four years, but the average length of service is about two years.
