United Methodist Mexican American Ministries d/b.a Genesis Family Health

Genesis Family Health (GFH) formerly known as United Methodist Mexican American Ministries (UMMAM) is a non-profit corporation based in Garden City, Kan. Since 1974, GFH has fostered mission-driven outreach to people of all races, ages and faiths, and, today, offers a comprehensive array of social, spiritual, educational, medical and dental programs to improve the quality of life of under-served individuals and families across western Kansas.GFH operates a network of Community Health Centers (CHCs) in Garden City, Dodge City, Liberal and Ulysses, offering outpatient care to a diverse and largely indigent patient population. Services include illness and injury treatment, wellness and preventive care, OB/GYN, immunizations and behavioral health. Pharmacy and lab services are also offered onsite, as well as certified Patient Navigators to help patrons “navigate” the Affordable Care Act and online insurance exchange. GFH dental clinics in Garden City and Dodge City offer a full range of general dentistry services for patients of all ages. Outreach services, including basic exams and cleanings, are provided at public schools, health fairs and community events via the Lifetime Smiles program.GFH’s Care Centers comprise offices in Garden City, Dodge City, Liberal and Ulysses with outreach sites in Satanta and Johnson. Care Center teams help meet basic needs for those facing various hardships via local food pantries, clothes closets, financial assistance, immigration services, citizenship training and other outreach resources. Our dedicated Care Center staff also administer a host of specialized education, wellness and disease prevention initiativest. GFH is very grateful for the widespread generosity of our western Kansas communities whose financial support and volunteerism allow us to forward the mission of our founding visionaries of the United Methodist Church - “to do Christ’s work in the world” by serving our neighbors in need.
