UHA

UHA is a studio for urban design, architecture and interior design. The studio is involved in a wide range of projects varying in both context, function and scale.Each individual project presents its own set of challenges which requires an understanding of design as a teleological process. Rather than being structured around endless recombinations of signature architectural expressions, our work is defined by this process itself, resulting in highly project-specific designs. One of our guiding principles is the constant pursuit of improvement in the quality of our built environment through an energetic, sustainable and optimistic approach to design. This is facilitated by a focus on specific elements such as natural light, simplicity and elegance which accentuate and characterise our designs. Also critical is the architectural and programmatic interplay of spaces and the sequences in which they are experienced. If improvement is necessary through a sensitive orchestration of design elements, it is because public and private habitats participate in delineating our selves: the nature of mobility within them shapes ontologies. Aesthetic yet functionalist fervour and innovation, combined with disciplined technical expertise, drive all of our work from product design and interiors to architecture and urban design.
