Trean is an independent, employee owned organization active in reinsurance brokering, insurance company management and insurance consulting services. Trean is headquartered in Wayzata, Minnesota, with branch offices in Kansas City and Las Vegas, plus satellite offices in Costa Mesa, California and Brookfield, Connecticut. Trean was originally formed in 1996 by individuals with decades of experience in reinsurance brokering, underwriting and insurance company management. It was founded on the belief that experience, superior technical abilities and creativity will deliver a better value proposition than the standardized products and bureaucracy of our larger competitors. Trean has successfully worked with very large and established insurers, but its focus is on the needs of small to medium sized and specialty insurers, including captives, risk retention groups, managing general agents, specialty/program divisions of insurance companies, pools, trusts and exchanges. Trean is particularly active in establishing fronting relationships enabling insurers and program managers to offer their insureds “A” rated insurance policies in all states.
