Transmarco Group (ASIA)

The Company was incorporated on 6 September 1973 in Singapore under the name of Metrotex Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Metro Holdings Ltd. On 12 March 1976, the Company changed its name to Metro (Marine Parade) Pte Ltd, and carried on business as a department store operator until March 1977, and on 11 February 1982, it turned to publicly listed company in Singapore (SGX).It’s principle activities was providing a management services to its subsidiaries that are engaged in the retail and wholesale distribution of footwear and lifestyle, sporting goods, cameras and studio equipment, office equipment, Hotel properties, Telecommunications and computers.By January 2006, the company disposed most of its non-core businesses and focus back on its vision as to be the most reputable retailer and wholesaler of footwear and lifestyle in the Region.Transmarco Limited was taken private on August 8, 2008.As of March 31, 2017, it operated over 270 retail stores and 500 wholesale distributions across the region.
